Where it Started

Well since nothing in sports has really have caught my eye I feel it’s necessary if I explain where the nickname American Pye came from.  Well one reason is because my favorite super hero is Captain America and the reason is because he is one of the only super heroes that doesn’t have a super power. The thing I like the most is that he has strength, endurance, agility, reflexes, durability, and speed. The reason I like that is because it reminds me all the tools you need to be able to be good at sports. So I basically relate he’s abilities to sports. The second reason I like the name is because one of my favorite movies is American Pie. It is a hilarious comedy that is sure to make you laugh. The third reason is that there is a song called American Pie by Don Mclean. That song is a great song and it really shows the American spirt. The song is pretty much going out mudding and having just a great time. Lastly my coach Joel Sankey was trying to figure out a nickname for me and he finally decided to call me American Pye. So after everything that I did right on the football field I would he there ya go American Pye. When I messed up I would still hear him say American Pye, but he would say god damn it before.  So after all of these reason the nickname kind of stuck with me.

Division III: Football's Finest

Alright I felt like it was needed that I explain why my profile picture is an old guy screaming. Well it is from one of my favorite movies. Some people in the class have seen this movie and the rest of you wonder why there’s this old guy as my profile picture. For those that haven’t watched the movie I am going to provide a gist of what it’s about. First off this movie can be found on Netflix. The main character of the movie is Andy Dick who is playing the character Rick Vice. So the old guy in my profile picture is Rick Vice. Well the movie starts off with the Pulman Blue Cocks coach drops dead on the side line. So the head master hires this psychotic redneck coach to be their last hope of turning the worst team in College Football’s worst division. This coach has unique language as he tries to motivate the team to the best of his abilities. Lastly the last time Rick Vice was a coach he almost killed a Pop Warner team. To find out more you should take some time of your exciting life’s and watch this delightful movie. Kentucky Saddles up West Virginia

It’s been an amazing year for the Kentucky Wildcats as they’re still unbeaten with a record of 37-0. The team is going for history since there has never been a team to go undefeated through the whole season. If they win the National Championship Kentucky will finish the season with a record of 40-0. That would be the first NCAA Men’s Basketball team to go 40-0. The recent game the Wildcats had was up against West Virginia. The game turned out to be a barnburner as the Kentucky Wildcats obliterates West Virginia, 79 to 38. This games was just ugly for West Virginia as they shot 24.1 % from the field which is the worst shot percentage in the NCAA Tournament game in the last 50 seasons. Kentucky’s frontcourt was just too good for West Virginia as Mountaineers only made 6 shots in the paint while the Wildcats blocked them 7 times in the paint. The Mountaineers tied for the fewest amount of paint points for the 2015 NCAA Tournament. The two frontcourt players that made the paint their house was Willie Cauley-Stein and he had 3 blocks while the other player was Trey Lyles who happened to be the leading scorer with 14 points. The other leading scorers were the two Harrison bothers as Andrew had 13 and Aaron had 12. As this season continues for the Kentucky Wildcats they have the pressure to stay undefeated. The Wildcats understand this pressures as they play every game likes it’s their last and they never go easy on an opponent as they showed when the defeated the Mountaineers by 39 points. The Wildcats now move on to the Elite 8 as they will compete against the Fighting Irish aka the Notre Dame.

Miraculous Shot at the Buzzer

It was a close game for the Milwaukee Bucks as they hosted the Miami Heat. There was 12 seconds left in the game when Bucks player Khris Middleton takes a straight on three pointer and missed. His teammate was fortunate enough to tangle up a rebound with a Miami Heat player to force a jump ball right in front of the Bucks hoop. Jerryd Bayless from the Milwaukee Bucks won tip ball and managed to get the ball back and was able to drive but unfortunately him missed the layup, but his teammate Zaza Pachulia was able to get the rebound and kick it back out to Khris Middleton. Middleton had 2 seconds to get the shot up so he did a catch and shoot. With no time left on the clock Middleton hit a miraculous shot at the buzzer to bring the Bucks to a record of 35-36. The Bucks went on an 18 to 3 run in the 4th quarter to insure them a chance for that buzzer beater win. Bucks have met the Heat 4 times this season and have been able to bring out the broom an sweep the series. The state line for the Milwaukee Bucks was Ersan Ilyasova led the way with 19 points. Adding to the Bucks score was Giannis Antetokounmpo had 16 points. An amazing thing to recognize is that this is just their 4th win in 18 games since trading away starting point guard Brandon Knight.

Upcoming game for the Milwaukee Bucks is the Indiana Pacers.

Upcoming game for the Miami Heat is the Boston Celtics.
